Vintage Hindu Garuda Eagle Wood Statue Balinese 18" Bali Indonesia Sculpture

A RARE AND UNIQUE ESTATE FIND!
This mythical creature is considered protector of the realm in Balinese culture.  Perched atop a symble-laden post, this demon hunter is poised and ready to strike.  The body and base are 1 piece.  Each wing is a seperate piece, one tacked in by a nail, the other glued securely into the body.  The tail is also seperate and glued securely into the body.
This wood sculpture is labeled underneath by its creators and appears to mid-early 20th century.  The label reads- Made and dried by CV, Garuda, Bali, Made in Indonesia.  The base sets firm.
When purchased, this colorful beast was covered in resin likely set in a spiritual setting with years of smokey materials being used.  Most of it has been cleaned off but is still quite apparent in the photos particularly on the edges.  There is a split in the wood base (pictured) from the bottom to the top of the pearch and extending in 3 inches to near the foot of the creature.  There is also a crack on its rear (pictured) in the orange body that appears to have been made during its making.
This lovely Garuda Eagle would make a great addition or centerpice to amplify any environment, and protect all within its realm.
The figure measures 18.5 inches from the base to wing tip high, 10-inch width at its wingspan and about a 6 inches on its circular base.  Please view the photos as they can provide a more informed desciption of the condition details.
