Live Temperate Springtails (Collembola) Mature Clay Cultures

Description

Springtails are detritivores that will consume decaying plant material, mold and waste in your bioactive enclosure. Unlike cultures grown on charcoal, these cultures can be gently tapped out into your vivarium. No need to flood the culture and have them float out.  If you keep the moisture content at the right level, the soil in the culture will stay attached to the bottom and will not fall into your vivarium. Great for terrariums, vivariums, bioactive setups, dart frog food, etc.
Choose 4, 8,15 or 20 pack of live temperate springtail cultures. Each culture is in a standard 4.5 inch deli cup. We recommend several cultures per vivarium so that you are able to rotate them as the springtails re populate after harvesting them into the vivarium. We find the cultures repopulate in 1-2 weeks after harvesting them when they are fed our springtail diet, kept at room temperature and with moist but not wet conditions.

They are shipped via USPS priority mail in insulated packaging. I include heat or cool packs as indicated by the temperature. All packages are live arrival guaranteed when shipped between 32 degrees and 90 degrees. Outside those temperatures, you must message me in advance to arrange hold for pick up at the post office for the LAG to apply.
