    Description

This item is a souvenir medal (or token) from the 1913 World's Fair held in Ghent (also spelled Gand), Belgium - the
    Exposition universelle et internationale
.  The Belgian monarchs King Albert and Queen Elisabeth were present for the official opening of the Fair, and this item features their likenesses on one side, with their names.  The other side has an image of the entrance building at the Fair, with French words indicating that this was a souvenir of the Fair, the name of the city (spelled GAND), and the year 1913.  There is no mark for manufacturer or metal content, but the composition appears to be brass with a nice light gilt surface treatment.  The diameter is
    approximately 28 mm (1-1/8")
    .
This item is in very good to fine overall condition with relatively light wear plus limited toning/soiling.  This item has a light gold color.
The illustrations in this listing are photos of the actual item being offered for sale, serving as part of the description.  NOTE:  This item is both lighter in color and brighter than is evident in the photos.
