An attractive 1865 three cent nickel graded MS 65 by NGC. It carries some very dramatic die cracks throughout the obverse with some attractive light toning. A very appealing original U.S type coin that has been housed in a slightly older style NGC holder.
This date is among the most common for the three cent nickel series with a huge mintage of 11,382,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 have survived in all grades today. This coin is one of only 146 graded Mint State 65 by NGC.
